Resisting Mountains : Aosta Valley
This original creation of CATLAC has been realized with the collaboration of the Autonomous Region of Aosta Valley and the Institute of History of the Resistance and the Contemporary Society in Aosta Valley (Italy).
For this series in homage to the Partisans of the Aosta Valley, we had access to the precious photographic fund of the Institute of the Resistance.
Research work based on the archives of the Institute of the Resistance.
The institute also gave us the chance to meet Resistance fighters who were willing to tell their stories.
The recording of their testimonies served as the basis for the creation of the images in the series. Excerpts of their stories were intended to be heard next to the photographs during the exhibition.
The Museum of the Resistance in Perloz (AO) also entrusted us with period objects related to some of their stories, which we were able to include in images.
Finally we went back to the places where the Resistance fighters passed through to photograph them today.
